Sorry this is so late, especially since this sale ends today, but I just wanted to share the great deal I got last week at Albertsons. I got everything pictured for $42.00!!!! They were running a great sale on certain products, that when you spent $20 on those products, you got $5 back to use on your next shopping trip. Since I had my good friend Kim with me, I just divided my purchases in two to take full advantage of the deal. Here's how:
First transaction:
6 fruit snack-$1.88 each
4 Nature valley nut clusters-$2.49 each
Total=$21.24 Then I used:
2-.40/1 coupons for fruit snacks
2-1.00/1 coupons for fruit snack
4-1.00/1 coupons for nut clusters
New total + tax=$15.72 plus a got a $5.00 off next purchase for spending $20, a $3.50 off next purchase for buying 5 or more fruit snacks, and a $2.50 off next purchase for buying 4 nut clusters. That's $11.00 in coupons to use on my next transaction!!!!

So then I purchased:
6 progresso soup-$1.39 each
2 honey nut cheerios-$1.88 each
2 regular cheerios-$1.88 each
2 fiber one bars-$2.49 each
1 24 pack of water-$2.50 w/in ad coupon
3 breyers ice creams-$1.99 w/in ad coupon
6 8oz bricks of cheese-.98 each
6 8oz. bags of shredded cheese-.98 each
2 skippy PB-.99 w/in ad coupon
1 large pack of bone in pork chops-.99/lb, mine was 3.68
Then I used:
2 1.00/1 regular cheerios
2 1.00/1 honey nut cheerios
2 1.10/3 progresso soups
2 1.00/1 fiber one bars
and my 5.00, 3.50, and 2.50 coupons from previous purchase
Total+tax=31.24 and I got another $5.00 back coupon to use next time!!!!

So, total out of pocket $46.96, but I have the five dollar coupon for next time, so if you factor that in I spent a total of $41.96!!! AWESOME! (at least I think so). All the coupons I used for the sale were found using the links on PYP and printed off, how easy is that? I'm hoping for another great sale this week.

Cheese, glorious cheese!

Once again, Albertson's is running another great sale. If you don't get the weekly paper, here are some of the best deals. All Albertson's brand 8oz. size cheese is on sale for .98 cents, no limit!!! I hit this same sale a few weeks back and stocked up then, but I still grabbed more because of the ridiculously good price. This price is good on shredded, block and cream cheese. And, if you didn't know, you can freeze the shredded cheese. I think I bought a total of 25 bags of shredded cheese last time and threw them in my freezer and just take out one or two as needed. They also have a great selection of cheese, including mexican blend, italian blend, sharp, colby jack, mozzarella, sharp, medium, etc. so this works fabulous for whatever you're making. You can also get swiss, pepper jack, extra sharp, colby jack and others in the 8 oz. brick. Super deal!!!

They also had some coupons in their Wednesday ad that were great. One of my favorites was Breyers ice cream for $1.99 with a limit of four. You do have to have the coupon for this deal. Also, Skippy peanut butter for .99 cents with a limit of six, coupon needed as well. And, Albertsons bottled water, 24 bottles for $2.50, also with coupon.

They are also currently running alot of great meat deals, includinag a lot of buy one get one free. Thier bone-in pork sirloin chops were on sale for .99 cents a lb. If you want to check out all the great deals, check out the Albertsons post for this weeks sale over at http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com/. I hit this sale earlier in the week with my friend Kim and also shopped the promo sale where you get $5.00 back for every $20.00 you spend on select items. We got some great deals that night, so i'll post pictures and info later and tell you exactly how I did it.

Happy hunting!

P.S. For all you bountiful basket fans, did you hear Rigby is getting it's own locatioin for next weeks pick up? YAHOO!!!! I love my bountiful baskets!

Craziness.....

O.K., so i've been a little busy lately. But I am still alive, and steal looking for great deals. Just ordered my bountiful basket today. I had thought that they were not having it this week because of the holiday but I was wrong. If you still want one, better hurry up and get it ordered. I also just read on the PYP homepage, that starting January 16th, they will be adding pick up locations in Rigby and Firth! YEAH!!!! So happy to have a location in Rigby, that will be great. Any of you who have not tried this yet, you are missing out. It really is a great deal and a great program.

It also looks like Albertson's will be having a pretty good sale starting tomorrow. There is a Proctor and Gamble promotion running where you get $10 off your next purchase when you spend $25 on select P&G products. There are some great coupons available to stack along with this sale and with items such as Tide laundry detergent, its not hard to spend the $25. Head on over to Pinching your Pennies to read all about it and check out their shopping list for the sale and to see where you can get your coupons. If you have any questions, please ask.

So has anyone found any killer, gotta have it, can't live without it, after Christmas specials? If so, please share. I won't be heading out until this weekend, so i'll report then.

Be safe, and have a Happy New Year!

Krazy Deals....

Head on over to http://www.thekrazycouponlady.com/ and check out all the great deals they have listed. Just skip over the stores that aren't pertinent to our area. but they have some great deals listed for Gymboree, Old Navy, groceries, and more. This is another site that I check almost daily because of all the great information they have.

If you ordered your bountiful baskets to be picked up at the Rexburg location, Congrats! I just read on the pinching your pennies thread that the Rexburg location filled up by 3:30 yesterday. This means word is getting out and it looks like this will be a very popular spot. Remember to order early!

Bountiful baskets and Albies

Ordering is open for the Idaho Falls and Rexburg location bountiful baskets. You have until tomorrow night at 10 p.m. (sorry, I originally posted midnight) to decide if you want to order. Or until all the spaces fill up, whatever happens first. This time they are also offering a holiday hostess pack with baby carrots, chestnuts, grape tomatoes, yams, yellow corn, yellow onions, romaine salad pack, etc. Sounds interesting. Go check it out at bountifulbaskets.org

It looks like Albertson's is gearing up for another good sale starting tomorrow. To see a preview of this sale, head on over to http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com, look under the state forums in Idaho, and click on the thread for Albertsons sale 12/16-12/23. They always post a preview of the sale on the day before it actually starts. This gives you time to see if there is anything you need and if you need to print out any additional coupons.

For those of you who have not heard of pinchingyourpennies.com, let me just say that this is where I find out about 90% of my deals. They do a great job of putting together shopping lists, pointing out the best deals, and even letting you know when there is a coupon available to use and where to go to print it out. You can even sign up for their newsletter, the screaming penny, and they will e-mail you with all kinds of updates and fantastic deals that are going on. I recieve several e-mails form them weekely, and the deals include everything from food, gifts, clothing, etc. If you haven't signed up for it, you're missing out.

Well, off to get something accomplished today. Can you believe Christmas is next week!? How did that happen? Hope you enjoy the deals, and i'll post pics of what I got in my basket this weekend. Have a good one.

Cheap Chicken!

Thanks to Kim for reminding me about this today. Through tomorrow, Albertson's has their boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.88/lb. Anytime this goes for under $2.00/lb, I think it's good enough to stock up. This deal is available in the butcher block, but at the Albies in Rexburg last night, they also had the big packs marked at this price as well. If you need/love/want chicken, you'd better hurry in!

Also, just a reminder that tomorrow is the day to start placing your orders for Bountiful Baskets if you are interested. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Movie and produce deals

One of my more recent finds is a food co-op called Bountiful Baskets. Apparently this has been around for some time and is currently operating in Utah, Arizona, Washington, and Idaho. Most recently, pick-up locations were added in Rexburg and Idaho Falls. How it works, is every two weeks you have the option of purchasing a "basket" in your area. The basket consisits of 50% fruits and 50%vegetables and it is all fresh produce. The big "kicker" in the program, is that you don't know exactly what fruits and vegetable you are getting until you pick up your basket. I just did this for the first time last Saturday and was very impressed with what I got. Oh, the most important part, the basket is $15.00 and you also have the option of adding on other things such as breads, seasonal fruits, or special ingredient packs. So last week this is what I got in my basket:
2 mini watermelons
1 bunch of broccoli
1 head of romaine lettuce
1 carton of strawberries
7 roma tomotoes
9 d'anjou pears
6 cucumbers
5 zucchini
9 bananas
8 oranges
3 green peppers
8 braeburn apples
I also added the 9 grain bread to my order and got 5 loaves for ten dollars. So, I got all of this for $28.00 ( I forgot to mention an extra $3.00 fee for your FIRST basket order. After that, they will only be $15.00).
This is a great deal, especially if you have a large family. It forced me to think outside the box and make things I never had before. I also froze some of what I could to use for later.

If your interested in this, the days to sign up for the next Rexburg or Idaho Falls pick-up will be this Tuesday Dec. 15th starting at 10:00 a.m. to midnight on Wednesday Dec. 16th. There are only so many spots available at each location, and i'm sure as the word is sread they will fill up fast, so if you want to participate I sugest signing up early. To sign up, go the Bountiful Basket home page(I have the link to the right on my blog), on those days and pick your basket, pick-up location, and extras, then pay for it and print out your receipt to take with you to your pick-up spot. The location in Rexburg is the Madison Middle School. There are also different pick-up times for different locations. Last time we picked up at 2:30 p.m. in Rexburg. If you have any further questions about this you can ask me, or visit the pinching your pennies homepage, and then go under the state forums to Idaho, and read the posts under Bountiful Baskets. This is a great program.

Also, Amazon.com currently has some great movie deals going on. Today I ordered the new Harry Potter and the half blood prince and Julie & Julia for only $9.99 each. Check out their site for more great deals across the board. They also offer free super saver shipping if you spend $25 or more on select items.

Have a great weekend, and enjoy the snow!
